Warning:
This is the second book in the House of Night series. Although I do not intentionaly put spoilers, the following synopsis and review may contain spoilers to earlier books. Do not read unless you have read Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast.

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs—like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

Plot: Wow. The plot was... AMAZING! It was fast paced and at times I couldn't put the book down and I haven't done that in awhile! It had a lot of twists and turns and you don't know what to expect! Definitely loved the plot.

Characters: The characters have definitely have evolved and I liked the characters better in Betrayed than I did in Marked. You start to like characters you HATED in Marked, than you begin to despise a favorite character. And lets just say I couldn't help but shed a tear at one part because of characters. :')

Creativity: Again (like I said in my Marked review) I LOVE the way the Casts' portray vampyres. Very different than other vampyres in other books/movies. Plus your introduced to a new type of vampyre. (sort of)

Writing: Not much to say but, writing has DEFINITELY improved by a long shot. Good job P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast!

Ending: The Ending left a bunch of questions unanswered a.k.a. HUGE cliffhanger. I think I might implode if I don't read Chosen RIGHT NOW!

Cover: Cover is beautiful as usual in all the House of Night books! Either you hate them or you love them, it's hard NOT to love the covers.

All in all: GREAT story! If you didn't like Marked that much and don't really want to continue the series.. I will stalk you until you read Betrayed >:D Just kidding! But seriously, read it.

First Sentence: "New kid. Check it out," Shaunee said as she slid into the big boothlike bench we always claim as ours for every school meal served in the dining hall.
