Enter the dark, magical world of The House of Night, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampire. That is, if she makes it through the Change—and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny—with a little help from her new vampyre friends.
Plot: The plot was farily good. It could have been better. Like in the beginning it was like a comedy book, maybe some people like that but I just couldn't take it seriously in the beginning at all. It could have been a little more serious in the beginning but as I read further into the book it got more serious. After that I LOVED the book.
Characters: The characters were really good. I loved the characters I was supposed to love and hated the characters I was supposed to hate. Zoey was probably my favorite character. She was so random at times and made me smile and laugh. Very good characters!
Creativity: I LOVED THE CREATIVITY!! I just loved the Casts' take on vampyres. If I could be a vampyre I would probably be a House of Night vampyre! Great Creativity!!
Writing: The writing was okay. I've definitely read better but this writing isn't horrible in any way but it could have been better.
Ending: I liked the happily ever after type ending it was sweet and action packed! I definitely liked the ending!
Cover: The cover is amazing! I love all the house of night covers. St. Martin's Griffin if I get published please do my cover!
All in all: great book and check it out if your into comedy and just a good YA book in general!
First Sentence: Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse I saw the dead guy standing next to my locker.
